How to Find the Right Anti Aging Skin Care Product

August 29th, 2010 No Comments »

Anti aging skin care products seem to be everywhere these days. With so many skin care products to choose from, finding the best is difficult. Price is not necessarily a good measure of quality.

Most of your popular anti aging skin care products are very expensive. As mentioned price, value and quality are not always equal.

We won’t name the popular brands here but you know the ones I am referring to.  They all advertise heavily either on TV, home shopping networks, magazines etc.  Much of their operating budget goes for advertisng and not for research, development or manufacturing let alone ingredients.

You buy the product because of what you are led to believe it will do.  But if the essential ingredients are not in the anti aging skin care product you will be disappointed when you look in the mirror.  Has that been your experience?  It has been mine.

If the “big names” would spend more on active ingredients in the skin care product they would have an effective anti aging skin care product.  It takes a special company to put ingredients into the product that really work.  Yes, a company that does things right will charge a little more for their skin care line but if it truly does the job that is O.K. with most of us.

An anti aging skin care product that really works should have in it a lot of active ingredients in high concentrated amounts, 50% minimum.  You will be hard pressed to find a company that does that.  I have found only one.

The reason why most anti aging skin care products don’t work is that purified water is the main ingredient.  Added to the skin care product is things like artificial fragrances, preservatives, colors, etc. All these things smell good, look good, won’t spoil for years but are practically  worthless.  That is because they usually contain very little active ingredients.

Finding the right anti aging skin care products is not spending a ton of money on some fancy package that looks great on your dresser and smells oh so nice.  You may as well take the money you spent on it and ,yes, push down on the handle, watch it swirl around and gurgle out of sight.

So how do you find the best anti aging skin care products?  Do what I did.  Stay out of department stores, turn of the shopping network and quit reading ads in “glamour” mags.  You absolutely will not find an effective anti aging product there.  The best skin care products come directly from the manufacturer.  Here’s a tip on what I found out.

Gold-plated Tip

Think about this for a moment: Where would you go to get the best nutritional supplements for your health? No, not the shopping channels nor the health food store.  Which is a surprise to most.  It shouldn’t be since they will sell what ever anyone will buy.

The best source for any anti aging skin care product is from a company that also knows and cares about your health.  One who has effective vitamins and supplements that help enchance your quality of life.

One company that I found, that also makes a superb line of nutritional supplements,  says, ‘The ingredients we put in our skin care products are safe enough to eat’. Now that is the kind of company you want to find. Judging from the results I get, I sure am glad I found them.

Anti Aging Skin Care – Protect Your Self

August 29th, 2010 No Comments »

It is a common fact that people or women in particular are always looking for the miracle cure against anti aging. It’s no wonder that cosmetic companies are spending vast sums of money no only researching, but releasing large amounts of heavily priced so called miracle cures to the ever so eager public hell bent on looking young for as long as possible.

Anti aging skin care products can be traced as far back as Cleopatra and many other very famous women through out the ages. The sad fact is, that all of us will grow old and that goes for our skin as well of course. As of today, nothing on the market, despite wild and wonderful claims, can make us look young forever. However there is one product that stands out from the crowd and usually does not require you to spend your entire week’s wage to purchase.

Discover sunscreen

Sunscreen is so common nowadays that most people would not even consider it as an integral part of an anti aging skin care regime. Ask any dermatologist and they will tell you that sun block is not only important but is in fact one of the best ways to maintain the skin looking young, beautiful and glowing.

The sun is our skin’s biggest enemy and prolonged exposure to sunlight mainly in the middle of the day can not only dry the skin but can also cause permanent damage to it. Using sunscreen can, not only protect our defenseless skin against damaging sun rays but it will also ensure that the skin does not dry up.

Staying out of the sun during the day and only doing things at night could be an option but not really a practical one. Being humans, we do need some exposure to sun light to get our daily dose of vitamin D. Further more, completely staying out of the sun can result in some diseases or conditions that can be quite dangerous.

How sunscreen works

As an anti aging skin care product, sunscreen works by shielding our skin from damaging rays but lets in only the good benefits that we receive from direct exposure to the sun. The hours between 10.00 am to 3.00 pm are usually most dangerous to our skin. This is the time that the sun is most likely to be at its peak.

One of the main reasons hat people do not use sunscreen is that some of them are quite greasy and sting the eyes. With so many on the market today, you will easily find one that will solve both these problems with the added bonus of offering you complete protection against the sun’s damaging rays. As a wonderful anti aging skin care product, the main ingredients present in sunscreen can also be found in skin care items such as powders, whitening creams and many others.

It needs to be said however that using sunscreen as an anti aging skin care product if you are a heavy smoker or if you consume large amounts of alcohol regularly, will have not effect at all. To combat the effect these highly dangerous substances have on your skin, you will need to find some other drastic solution to your problem first before considering anti aging skin care.

Would You Rather Have Slick Ads or Quality Results? Choosing the Best Anti Aging Skin Care Product

August 27th, 2010 No Comments »

There is an exciting new anti aging skin care product on the market.

In fact, there is a complete line of anti aging skin care products that were developed using careful research and clinical trials, similar to what you would see when a pharmaceutical company develops a new medication.

Cosmetic companies have a tendency to spend more money on advertising than research and development. They also tend to use inexpensive and low quality ingredients in their creams and lotions.

You can apply that statement to practically any anti aging skin care product.

Either they will be ineffective – because of a lack of active compounds – or they will cause adverse reactions because they include known allergens and cheap ingredients.

The new anti aging skin care products referred to above are different.

They were developed by one of the best health supplement companies in the world. The company has a long standing reputation among customers for providing satisfaction and high quality. They could not afford to damage their reputation by creating an anti aging skin care product that was ineffective.

You see, they don’t advertise on television or in glossy magazines. They still rely on word of mouth, even to sell their anti aging skin care products. That’s practically unheard of today, but their success has grown and I am sure that it will continue to do so, as their quality never wavers.

What’s so great about this new anti aging skin care product?

Researchers searched the world over for botanicals and other natural compounds that were known to improve the appearance and the health of the skin. One was found in Brazil, another in Japan, a couple in New Zealand, one in Germany and a few others in North America.

Most of the plants had been used historically by native peoples to prevent sun damage, improve appearance or heal irritation, inflammation or infection. There are many anti aging skin care products on the market, but none of them contain as many active components.

The clinical research tells the story. First, the anti aging skin care product was shown to increase the proliferation of new skin cells by as much as 160% (The production of your new cells naturally diminishes with age). Without new cells, new collagen and elastin fibers cannot be produced.

Second, these anti aging skin care products were shown to improve hydration and elasticity by as much as 42% in 18 days. Dry skin is more easily damaged. Loss of elasticity causes things like bags around the eyes, sagginess on the neck. If you improve elasticity, wrinkles are far less noticeable.

Third, this anti aging skin care product was shown to reduce redness and inflammation. If unchecked, inflammation leads to the breakdown of proteins necessary for skin cell production.

Fourth, the measurable antioxidant activity of the anti aging skin care products was 2,000 times greater than that of vitamin C. Antioxidants prevent free radical damage and help the body to repair damage done. Most antioxidants work on a one-on-one basis, so one molecule of an antioxidant is “used up” each time that it runs into a free radical.

This anti aging skin care product is referred to as an enzymatic antioxidant because it can stop millions of free radicals before they can damage a cell. You’ll have to do a little more searching to get the company name, but if you want healthier, younger looking skin, it’s worth your time.

Anti Aging Skin Care – Part 5

As we age, our skin begins to show the signs of time. All of a sudden normal facial muscle movement such as smiling, chewing and squinting become enemies. Not to mention that gravity and years of sun exposure (for those hard core sun bathers) reflect an image you may no longer recognize. In essence aging skin is caused by the fact that underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up during our teens, twenties, thirties and forties begin to break down. Once the signs of time start to manifest themselves we quickly start seeing laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet or facial creases over the areas where repetitive muscle movement occur.

Until recently, signs of aging were synonymous with wisdom, experience, character and sage advice. In other words, aging meant getting better at figuring life. Today, we still want to get better at figuring life as we age, we simply don’t want to look like we’re older on the outside than we are on the inside.

It seems we are more determined now than ever in history to sip, drink and gulp the elixirs or potions of eternal youth. Did you know that men and women living in western countries spend several billions (yes, billion with a “b”) of dollars each year on anti aging skin care products and treatments that promise to tighten the skin, smooth out wrinkles, lighten age spots, remove excess fat, eradicate cellulite, tuck tummies and erase 20 years off of our smiles.

Looking 10 years younger no longer means going under the knife because there are so many other options that can make you feel great with a minimum amount of pain. Another bonus to these new procedures – the cost is far more affordable than plastic surgery.

Are you looking to find out more about treatments that change the cellular metabolism of your skin and that can combat fine facial wrinkles and blotches from sun damage? Anti Aging Skin Care Products – Part 3

There comes a time in everyone’s life where there is more of a concern for anti aging skin care products. Developing your own individualized skin regime can be a beneficial part of your skin’s maintenance and preventative measures. As you grow older, your skin’s defenses against the elements are not as good as they once were and need protection from constant exposure to natural light, wind or even pollutants. With the help of quality skin care products, you are sure to find a brand that is right for your skin.

Depending on what type of skin you have, your cleansing and maintenance routine may differ to that of your friend or neighbour. People with oily skin will notice variances in the entire process of cleansing and moisturizing than that of someone with dry or combination skin. It is imperative that you are certain of your skin type before you begin to purchase products, since a product designed for a skin condition unlike yours can possibly do more harm than good in the end.

Researching a number of assorted anti aging skin care product lines is a fantastic way to gather information about the different products out there today and what they claim to offer. You will find that some products will promise extreme results where others will only list facts and statistics that have been tested and proven over time. Just like any other product on the market today, you will want to be sure that the brand you choose will deliver exactly what it tells you in terms of your skin care. Generally if it seems too good to be true and you cannot find hard facts to back up their claims, typically it is far fetched.

Value for your money can also be a strong concern for those who are looking at assorted brands of anti aging skin care products. You may find that there are some products that are extremely higher priced than others, while you may stumble upon a brand that is extremely cheaper compared to other lines of products. Be sure to examine all of these lines for their ingredients, content and even packaging. Some products have attractive and unnecessary packaging that will have a larger cost as a result. Do not be fooled by flashy containers or fancy advertisements. All of these extras are actually built right into the cost of your skin products and are irrelevant to your skin care.

The Internet is a wide resource for those who are searching for consumer reports or even complaints of various companies that carry many anti aging skin care products. Do not limit yourself to store displays or the word of a sales associate when searching for your ideal brand of skin products. Make sure that you take a look at company websites for information about products from medical or technical staff, or even browse forums where the many companies are discussed in detail through a number of consumers. You can find out a great deal of information from others who have tried the products you are looking at.

No matter what age you are or your skin type, it is always a great idea to have a strong skin regime in place in order to take care of your skin and prevent any damage that can occur over time. With a positive cleansing and moisturizing routine, you are sure to extend the life of your skin to promote healthy, vibrant skin well into your years.

When Is An Anti-Aging Prodcut Worth $129.99?

August 15th, 2010 No Comments »

When you’ve got $80 to waste, feel free to purchase a $129.99 1oz bottle of anti-aging serum!! Consumers should look for products with ingredients that deliver results, utilize reasonable packaging and offer direct to consumer pricing to bring you a product that works at a fraction of the “Prestige” price!

There are some anti-aging products that are significantly more expensive than lotion to produce, but I’ve yet to find a non-prescription product line that would warrant a $100+ price tag. I’ve outlined some things to look for in a more expensive anti-aging/skin care product:

1. Products with Vitamins C & E: The American Academy of Dermatology, published a paper, “Facing the Age Old Question… How to Turn Back the Hands of Time”. Dermatologist, Arielle N.B. Kauvar, recommended “over-the-counter topical products with ingredients such as the anti-oxidants vitamins C & E”. These are the sort of ingredients that will raise the price of a “good” product, but you shouldn’t be paying any more than $40 per 2oz bottle.

2. Products with AHA (alpha hydroxy acid): According to Bratis Peralta, Master Esthetician and co-founder of Active Skin Formulas, “Products with alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) can help remove the dead outer layers of skin, leaving the face with a fresh, younger appearance. AHAs are particularly beneficial for wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.”

Helena Pae co-founder and business partner of Bratis points out that the most important way to prevent aging skin, “Is to protect it with sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays and has an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 15 or higher.” According to the American Academy of Dermatology, sun exposure is the number 1 cause of aging skin.

3. Avotone and Active Skin Formulas: Various websites that claim to have examined over 17 different wrinkle treatment products ranked the two most effective:

Avotone was ranked #1, and Active Skin Formulas #2. Avotone uses acetyl hexapeptide in their cream and costs about $90 for 1 oz. Actives’s ingredients include Hexapeptide-3, Alpha Lipoic Acid, a host of antioxidants, and costs about $60 for the 3 oz. system.

The bottom line is simple:

Anti-wrinkle creams help reduce the appearance of aging. Generally, these creams are not permanent wrinkle removers, but help remove the dead outer layer of skin, hydrate the skin and plump it up… smoothing out the wrinkles.

Results can be seen after about 30 days. But, once you stop using a product, the wrinkles WILL return, so ongoing product use IS essential. That’s why consumers should only chose products with the BEST ingredients from an FDA audited lab that won’t break the bank. SKIP the fancy packaging and huge mark-ups you’ll pay in department stores!!

Anti Aging Skin Care Treatment – Part 1

Is your skin telling you it’s time to make a change? Are you developing lines and wrinkles that you can’t seem to get rid of? In our modern world there are products designed to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, refine texture, and even skin tone for a more even skin tone and overall appearance.

The cause for wrinkles is a loss of collagen and elastin. You want a wrinkle treatment that makes the skin and tissues firm. The amount of wrinkling you have depends on your DNA make-up, dry skin and exposure to the elements usually make it worse, especially sunburns. Smoking of course is one of the most harmful.

You have a number of treatments you can choose from, and the treatment you choose can be tailored to suit your particular situation. Some of these treatments I am personally opposed to, but you may find them to be acceptable. For instance, I am opposed to any treatment that contains the following:

• Botox injections are one of the treatments used successfully by many, and it’s claimed that it also may help migraine suffers. The objection that I have is that it is a toxin, and nearly everyone these days is trying to de-tox (get the toxins out of their bodies) not inject them into their bodies. This toxin, when injected blocks the chemical that makes muscles move. That doesn’t sound good to me either.

• DHEA, dehydroepiandrosterone: a steroid hormone naturally produced by the adrenal cortex and found in human urine. The truth is very little is known about DHEA. Long term effects of self-medicating by using DHEA supplements may be beneficial, neutral, or harmful, but it is unlikely that DHEA supplements will affect each individual in the same way. Increasing DHEA may well increase testosterone, which in men may lead to prostate enlargement and in women may lead to facial hair. Increasing estrogen may help prevent osteoporosis or heart disease but may increase the risk of breast cancer. In other words, taking DHEA is a gamble.

The above treatments are probably acceptable to many of you, and possibly even preferred. As for me, I am not only interested in looking younger, I would also like to live longer. For that reason I prefer a cell renewal fluid that contains products like the following.

• Gluconolactone—gentle enough for all skin types, this polyhydroxy acid (PHA) increases skin cell turnover, diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles and improves texture, and it’s not toxic.

• Soy isoflavones—promote skin firming and the smoothing of lines and wrinkles while working to inhibit metalloproteinase (MMP) enzymes that stimulate the degradation of collagen and elastin.

There are many more, but you get the idea, smoothing wrinkles does not have to cause toxicicity or be unsafe.

A cell renewal fluid that contains these ingredients will gently but effectively accelerate cell renewal. It provides antioxidant protection and enhances skin hydration to smooth texture and diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Soy isoflavones lend support by promoting the production of skin proteins and inhibiting the enzymes that break them down.

Young healthy skin regularly sheds dead surface cells and replenishes them with newer, plumper cells from deeper layers of the skin. This process is called cell renewal. As individuals age, cell renewal begins to decline. This decrease causes the cells in the outer layer of the skin to become sticky and accumulate on the surface, leading to a dull, sallow complexion; a rough texture; and an increase in pore size. Polyhydroxy acids (PHA’s) increase the cell renewal process, mimicking that of young, healthy skin. PHA’s work by breaking down the extra-cellular matrix that holds cells together, which allows the dead cells to slough off. As the skin’s surface is exfoliated, basal cells in the lowest layer of the epidermis are stimulated to speed up their rate of division, bringing younger, healthier cells to the surface. Smoother, firmer, and more radiant, these younger cells reveal a youthful complexion.

In my opinion, you will be much better off if you choose the anti aging formula that detoxifies the skin rather than make it more toxic. http://www.totalskincareproducts.com/anti-aging-skin-care-treatment.html

Do Anti Aging Skin Care Products Make you Look More Healthier

July 12th, 2010 No Comments »

If I can find something that works well now, perhaps I can keep those sorts of things at bay a little longer rather than trying to deal with them as they pop up.

There are a ton of anti aging skin care products out there, and that is a huge problem. You never know what will work and what won’t work. No one wants to spend a lot of money on something only to find out it doesn’t do any good. Though you will always need a good moisturizer, and that is one of the key anti aging skin care products, there is so much more out there. There are many things that make many claims, but how do you know what works and what is a waste? You don’t. Sometimes, it’s a matter of trial and error.

The best testimonials for anti aging skin care products are ones that come from real people. Don’t make the mistake of believing what some celebrity on a commercial says. They are getting paid to say that, and they may not even use any of the anti aging skin care products that they are talking about. Some might, but I would bet a majority of them do not. You want to hear from real people who have really used these things, and have used them for a while. Don’t believe what someone in a commercial, famous or not, has to tell you. You want to talk to real people.

Your best bet is to find a source for reviews of anti aging skin care products online somewhere. I wish there were more of these sites online. Though you may not be able to tell if all of the testimonials are real, as long as that site is not connected with those who produce the anti aging skin care products, you can relax and be assured that you are hearing from real folks. You can tell by how the person speaks and writes. After a while you know the difference between public relations writing and how really people talk about products.

Anti Aging Skin Care And Acne

July 10th, 2010 No Comments »

If you are between the ages of ten and fourth then starting a anti aging skin care regiment will provide you with the best results if you begin now. People aged between ten and forty are usually most affected by acne, which manifests itself as congested pores, black and whiteheads, pimples, papules, pustules as well as cysts, nodules, or rosacea. There are a number of anti aging acne skin care products available that can effectively treat the condition if you start early enough.

The skin of men and women should be properly moisturized so that signs of aging will diminish and along with a good sun block will go a long way to accomplish your goals. There are a number of different products available but not all of the products you try will provide satisfactory results and in some cases may actually worsen you acne problem.

Consulting a skin care expert or a dermatologist should be your first step before using any type of anti aging acne skin care regiment. There are many kinds of acne scars that may have appeared on the surface of the skin, which may prove to be resistant to the anti aging acne skin care product you may use. A professional can tell you which products would give you the best results based on the type of skin problem you have.

A good choice for anti aging acne skin care is glycolic acid peels, salicylic acid peels, as well as TCA peels that are often recommended by dermatologists because they work well on not only acne scars, but also takes care of age spots as well as fine wrinkles. Another product you can use is Bi-phasic peel.

You need to take timely action when the first signs of acne or aging appear. Any delay would only lead to a worsening of the condition. Applying good anti-aging acne skin care products will not only help remove wrinkles, but also may have a positive effect on the acne scars since the products used contain Retinol, which is a form of vitamin A and it has considerable rejuvenating effects on aging skin.

Vitamin A in the form of Retinoid and Retinol are used in the cosmetic industry to improve the skin replacement rate. The effects of acne and the scars from acne can be markedly reduced by this higher skin cell replacement rate. The anti aging chemicals also found in vitamin A are absorbed through the skin and can increase the collagen level giving the skin a more youthful appearance.

Regular application of retinol can make the skin soft and smooth. The pores will be cleaned and less visible and wrinkles will be less pronounced thus the signs of aging would be reduced. Retinol has been found to improve skin texture, tone and color.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with aging such as Vitamin A, Antioxidants, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, and Aloe Vera.

Substances called Antioxidants can neutralize free radical by pairing up or binding with the free radical elections thus inhibiting them from damaging cells in the human body. Natural Antioxidants are abundant in fruits and vegetables such as, apples, blueberries, broccoli, cherries, cranberries, Grapes, spinach, and Spirulina a blue-green algae.

Vitamin D is manufactured in the skin following direct exposure to sunlight. Many studies show that Vitamin D production decreases in older people and in those who are housebound. Vitamin D is needed by the body to absorb calcium, which makes your bones stronger and helps prevent factures.

Vitamin E is also clinically proven as an effective antioxidant. It also improves our skin’s moisture and content, but also has skin protection properties and is good in smoothing our skin.

Aloe Vera will help rejuvenate and tone skin all over. A naturally cooling gel, the Aloe Vera botanical ingredients work together to stimulate the blood circulation and naturally soften the skin.

If you just feel that you need vitamins, supplements or herbs to fight the aging process then find a good health care professional prior to starting any type of home treatment.

Always consult your doctor before using this information.
